Posted by NBC News on Sunday, December 02, 2020 07:19:16 The East Side’s high school students are going back to their classrooms and learning with peers in classrooms that have been closed for months.
But students in one East Side elementary school, Edna’s, will soon be returning to their old school, as well.
Edna’s Principal Karen Bresnahan said students in Edna will be able to use the same classroom, but it won’t be open for the rest of the school year.
“We’re not in the business of closing schools, but I can assure you that there will be some adjustments to the curriculum in the next few weeks,” BresNahan said.
The district says that the new school is about 40 percent larger than Edna, and that it will have a new principal.
Edna has been closed since January for safety reasons, but the district says it has reopened and is doing well.
Edana’s students are currently scheduled to be home in September.
Edana is a small elementary school with just over 4,000 students.
Ednas principal says they are in the middle of a reorganization.
EdNas schools is located at 1501 E. 17th Ave.
in the East Side community of West Englewood.
