A mother of a girl who was sexually assaulted at a public school in Guilford County has spoken of how she “felt” for her daughter who had been “treated like a pig”.
Cyril Cuthbertson said she was “surprised” that the “terrible event” was not reported by the media, and that her daughter was “shocked and horrified”.
“She felt she was treated like a prissy little pig and it’s something she has never experienced,” Ms Cuthbert said.
The worst part is she had been raped by someone at the school, and she was raped by a stranger.” “
[It] was a horrible event to watch and it was just one of those things that we just didn’t know anything about.
The worst part is she had been raped by someone at the school, and she was raped by a stranger.”
Ms Cuthbardt said her daughter had “never been treated like that before”.
She said she did not believe the school “should have been a safe place”.
It was the second time her daughter has been assaulted at school, after a male student assaulted her in August, and a third time when a male teacher assaulted her after a student’s teacher had complained about her.
Her daughter was not the first victim to come forward to police about the alleged assault at the Guilfords Central Public School.
A second student, who did not want to be named, said he had been sexually assaulted by a teacher and had been made to wear a mask during an investigation.
Mr Cuthbery said she “did not want anyone to know about what had happened”.
He said he believed the school’s chief administrator was aware of the allegations against the schoolmaster.
It has been reported the principal of the school was “in the midst of a legal process” to take action against the teacher, who was suspended from the school.
Ms Sibbins was appointed chief administrator in October after the head of the state’s school services board was sacked over a similar incident.
She was replaced by a new principal in October.
Schools Victoria has said it is “investigating” the alleged incident and has apologised to Ms Sibben’s family.
Police have said they were investigating the incident and are waiting for the results of an external report.
